Phase I: Quick Getaway
We made the wrong assumption that Khao Yai would still be cool, so we rented a car and ventured into the mountains for Songkran. It was hot. In fact, it was so hot we were too lethargic to stray far beyond the Greenery Resort, where we were staying. Instead, we explored its immediately surroundings, including Khao Yai National Park, Life Park, Primo Posto, Palio and the GranMonte Winery.

Phase II: Living Dangerously
The political situation in Bangkok has been on everyone's mind the past few weeks. The adults decided to live life dangerously, left the kids at Banyan Tree Bangkok, and ventured forth into Red Shirt territory. A quick stroll to Lumpini Park somehow extended into a march down Ratchadamri Avenue into the heart of Ratchaprasong, and eventually a narrow escape via Phayathai Road.
Phase III: Back to RealityThe political situation in Bangkok has been on everyone's mind the past few weeks. One last hurrah before we head back to school, so we did what tourists normally do: visit a theme park. So off we went to Safari World. At the end of the "beast-ful" day, we were craving human companionship. When school finally re-opened, we were exhausted, yet refreshed and ready for term 3... shall we start planning for summer vacation?
